(this thread was originally about the cheap Cautys on Amuti but theyre gone now and its served its original purpose, its now more about Cauty than that deal)
Not sure if people were bothered about these SMDs... no one commeted in the other thread... perhaps you have to see them in the flesh.... I saw them at Aquarium back in 05 and was impressed and imho these images really leap out of the page. Anyway as a public service announcement I'll add this... The pops were £35 and that was good value from Aquarium last week, but Amuti also have full size SMDs up now... '6th' unsigned and unnumbered proofs are £35 (brilliant value) and '5th' APs (out of 18) for £150 - bargain. They have others too but they go up from those prices. The pages take a bit of navigating... have fun... www.amutionline.com/

Well, they were produced by Cauty to protest against Britain's involvement in the Gulf War, and most of them were destroyed because it's illegal to attempt to reproduce a stamp - the Post Office were going to sue him so ArtRepublic in Brighton had to get rid of them, losing thousands...
Cauty was part of the KLF, and they were the guys who burnt a million pounds as a piece of modern art.. so he's no stranger to controversy.
I reckon these are, arguably, one of the best print deals I've seen.
Run of 18, signed by the artist, almost impossible to get now - 150quid? Great price for a print with a great story behind it.
Got to be worth an investment punt too.

Loved the KLF, loved the million pound stunt......as I remember a lot of the money was burnt? flapping around the english/scottish countryside? Yeah agree as a stunt tis good. Anything that stirs up the establishment. Enjoy... Edit: Added 3 dots after Enjoy... Sorry mate, I was just testing my 'special powers', hope you dont mind

Hee Hee Holden... you'll see mine and wish you had one Ok maybe not... I think Ive said before, but I used to work for RM when this happened and was at Aquarium when these were coming down etc Perhaps they mean more to me than others cos of all that, but its a very strking image... and as Andy says it is signed from a run of 18 APs. Cant be bad. And yes there are 7th 8th and 9th... for those that wanted the set. Anyway its all pretty academic as in a day or so these will be gone as the whole lot is due to be deleted and I believe Cauty will do it. In fact you can buy the harddrive with all the images on it for £2800 if you wanted and that gives you copyright etc.

in typical fashion, I expect nowhere near the 150 said to be released was released. should say on the site somewhere.
