New Numskull Exhibition: Super Nothing Maybe Never!
Australia’s infamous street artist, Numskull, is launching his biggest exhibition to date. “Super Nothing Maybe Never!” opens Friday 5 December at the MTV gallery in East Sydney.
A favourite on the street and in the gallery for his epic mashes of text and pop figures, Numskull’s latest exhibition features a new series of paintings on canvas and wood which explore love, hate, mystery, fantasy and false heroes that dominate the airspace via corporate advertising.
Coming from the ‘burbs to a city dominated by signs, advertising and behemoth billboards that can't escape the eye, Numskull found inspiration for his new series when walking or rolling around town.
"Sometimes I drive through a main road and all the advertising passes by so quickly, I only get the first word,” Numskull said. “To me it seems like they join into one phrase or selling point: SUPER sales, NOTHING over $20, MAYBE she'll love it, NEVER before seen prices.”
Having grown up on a healthy diet of comics and cartoons, Numskull draws from this and a love of graffiti and signwriting to create original and often controversial pieces by stencil and paintbrush.
A full-time artist based at World's End Studio in Sydney, Australia, Numskull has held numerous solo and group exhibitions; his work has featured in a number of magazines and books worldwide and he has collaborated with Mambo, Von Zipper french label Sixpack.

Nice paintings and good prices in a nice venue with very very chilled beer... yum! Had a nice time chatting to the man himself and a few others and picked up a little something to go home with. All good imho, worth dropping in if you can
